“Ecosystems of Connectivity” was an exhibition where I explored the relationship between humans and their environment. Through a material language that combines natural and industrial elements — such as soil, moss, wood, ceramic, steel, and wire. I focus on the way two ecosystems can sustain one another, forming a breathing symbiosis between nature and human intervention. My painting Nature Feeling (‘natuurgevoel‘) suggests an instinctive return to something primal, safe, and deeply connected to nature. In contrast, my abstract works inspired by the urban environment of my hometown embody confrontation rather than harmony — reflecting the tension between structured city life and the longing for organic connection.
My ceramic works reflect on the Anthropocene: an era in which humanity’s destructive impact on the earth has become visible in every aspect of existence.
